Rather disappointing experience today. The staff were friendly and helpful and I can’t fault their presentation or general vibe.

We stopped in for a quick bite and a coffee while travelling and, to save time, picked two items straight from the window. We knew the wrap and halloumi burger would need reheating and were happy to wait a few minutes for that.

After sitting there for around 15 minutes, we assumed the food might be being made fresh, but that wasn’t the case. When we politely asked if it was ready, the staff member said, “Oh yes,” and took it straight off the grill. When it was boxed up, we could see the brioche bun on the burger was burnt. We asked about it and were told that’s just how it cooks on the grill. They did offer to heat another one, but we didn’t have another 20–30 minutes to wait.

Both the wrap and the brioche had a strong cinnamon taste. They weren’t terrible, just not what we were expecting or what was advertised. The halloumi burger also had very little halloumi, and the egg in the breakfast wrap tasted powdered, possibly from being overheated.

I’m not here to knock a small business, but I think there’s room for improvement and it’s worth sharing this feedback so things can be tightened up

Stumbled across this delight on the way to pick something up. Service was genuinely friendly, shop was spotless but still had personality, and the cinnamon bun and coffee we ordered were amazing.
